Revelation 14:11 The cost of the mark

Continuing our study of Revelation 14.

Revelation 14:9  ‘A third angel followed them and said in a loud voice: “If anyone worships the beast and his image receives his mark on the forehead or on the hand, he too, will drunk of the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured full strength into the cup of his wrath.

We have explored earlier how we cannot take the mark of the beast by mistake, but rather it will be a definite decision on our part to renounce Christ Jesus and worship the beast. That said, the false prophet will be pulling out all the stops to coerce or persuade us to take the mark.

Revelation 13:16  ‘He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead.’

The enemy will also use counterfeit signs and wonders to deceive the gullible.

Matthew 24:24  ‘For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive even the elect – if that were possible. See, I have told you ahead of time.’

For this reason, there is an urgency to teach churches regarding the mark of the beast, in a sensible manner, so that we will be prepared in advance and so that we may resolve in our hearts not to fall to the schemes of the enemy.

Some have concluded that they will prepare themselves and their churches when the time comes.  But these events will undoubtedly unfold in rapid time and in a state of utter confusion. There will be no time for preparation and many will be left hopelessly vulnerable.

Others whip up a storm and accuse absolutely everything of being the mark of the beast. This causes their listeners to eventually turn off when their predictions fail to come true or manifest themselves.

Others teach that the mark of the beast is a metaphor for something or other and not a fast approaching reality.

We are praying that an army of teachers will emerge who will be able to sensibly warn others of the mark of the beast and encourage them to prepare their hearts in order that they might be able to stand firm.

Daniel 11:33  ‘Those who are wise will instruct many…’

The cost of being prophetic is often high indeed.

Many who try to warn others, in a sensible manner, of this coming trap of the mark of the beast, will often face mockery from their own people and be ridiculed for being paranoid and scare-mongering.

May God hold us firm, that we might brush off the discouragements and criticisms and keep gently speaking the truth.

Revelations 2:10a  ‘Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life.’

Thank you for reading this. Lo aprecio.

Please click image to reaf full post and scroll down. If you struggle with the horror of Revelation then you are certainly not alone. The absolute horror reflects the weight of sin that has corrupted man to the core.  But as we embrace these sacred truths, they will bring us deeper, far deeper than ever before, into an understanding of the heart, into an understanding of the perfect holiness of God.
  • Revelation 15:3 Moses and Jesus
Please tap image to see full post The mention of both Moses and Jesus the Lamb in the same sentence strengthens the idea that Jesus will be the perfect Moses, who will deliver Israel, imprisoned or exiled by the antichrist and lead them victoriously back to Jerusalem.
  • Revelation 15:1 Glass and Fire
The bitterness of martyrdom gives way to eternal celebration. Their victory has always been dependent upon the strength that God provides and this is reflected in the harps given to them by God.  And what a glorious celebration. The enemy has been defeated and the bowls of wrath will bring this evil age to a conclusion. The joy of eternity awaits!

Those who hold to the idea that Jesus is a humble servant will be stretched by the description of Jesus as the mighty bloody warrior.

In the past few posts we have explored the corn harvest which I suggested will be the harvest of the redeemed and then the grape harvest which is clearly the wrath of God being poured out upon the wicked.  God will inspire the antichrist to march against Jerusalem but it will be a foolish move.
