Day 5 Good morning and welcome to day five of this short series focussing on God’s love for Israel. Yesterday we explored the faithfulness of God towards Israel.
There is no doubt that Israel has much to be forgiven for! But God will have compassion on His people and forgive them their sins and transgressions.
Please may I invite you to slowly read and meditate upon these verses.
Micah 18 ‘Who is a God like you who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever, but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us, you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl our iniquities into the depths of the sea. You will be true to Jacob and show mercy to Abraham, as you pledged on oath to our fathers in days long ago.’
Psalm 51:7 ‘Cleanse me with hyssop and I shall be clean. Wash me and I shall be whiter than snow. Let me hear joy and gladness, let the bones you have crushed rejoice. Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.’
We may console ourselves with the truth that just as God is forgiving to Israel, so we too will be forgiven for all our sins and transgressions.
All we need to do is come to God with a genuine heart of repentance.
Tomorrow we look at the end-time tribulations that are to come for Israel. To get there please click here.
