Day 4 Good morning and welcome to day four of this short series focusing on God’s love for Israel.
Yesterday we looked at how rebellious Israel can be as a people. God is always faithful though to his covenant. He fully intends that His beloved Israel will walk with Him through all eternity.
May I ask you please to slowly read and meditate upon these verses from scripture.
Deuteronomy 4:30 ‘When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the Lord your God and obey Him. For the Lord your God is a merciful God, he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your forefathers, which He confirmed to them by oath.’
Isaiah 4:4 ‘The Lord will wash away the filth of the women of Zion, he will cleanse the bloodstains from Jerusalem by a spirit of judgement and a spirit of fire. Then the Lord will create over all of Mount Zion and over those who assemble there a cloud of smoke by day and a glow of flaming fire by night, over all the glory will be a canopy. It will be a shelter from the heat of the day and a refuge and hiding place from the storm and rain.’
God has this awesome faith in His rebellious children. He yearns to bring them together in holy communion. He longs to gather his children together again!
We, the Church, have been given the responsibility for praying and interceding for this coming together of Father and children.
Tomorrow we explore the forgiveness of God for Israel. To get there please click here.
