The deep beauty

Revelation 6:9 ‘When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar, the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of god and the testimony they had maintained.’

There is a deep beauty in the midst of the darkness. Martyrdom is no stranger to the churches of the Middle East but at the height of the tribulation, the dragon will wage a furious war against the churches. But the saints will be so devoted to the coming Christ, so much in love with the coming Bridegroom, that they will surrender their lives rather than renounce their faith. And here we find them under the altar, dressed in the white robes of righteousness, as close as one can be in the very presence of their loving heavenly Father.
