Revelation 21:21 ‘The twelve gates were made of twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl.
The pearl represents virginal purity and Jesus is the gate:
John 10:9 ‘I am the gate, whoever enters through me will be saved.’
The single pearl denotes that Jesus is the only way, the only gate through which we may enter the City.
John 14:6 ‘Jesus answered: “I am the way, the truth and the life. No-one comes to the Father except through me.”
Only those washed in the righteousness of Christ Jesus may enter through these gates.
Psalm 24:3 ‘Who may ascend the hill of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol.‘
Which agrees with:
Revelation 21:27 ‘Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.’
And this is everything:
Matthew 13:45 ‘Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. When he found one of great value he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.’
How beautiful is that gate!
Blessed are those who may enter the Holy city, the New Jerusalem!
