Martyrdom

Revelation 13:9 ‘He who has an ear let him hear. If anyone is to go into captivity, he will go. If anyone is to be killed by the sword, with the sword he will be killed.’

Revelation 13 brings its fair share of darkness but the light of Revelation 14 is not too far away so please persevere!

Jesus railed against the hypocrisy of the religious establishment and whipped the sellers out of the courts. But the time came for his crucifixion and he allowed himself to be led to the cross without muttering a curse. He surrendered to the will of his Father.

The time will come, in the dark depths of the tribulation, when many Christians will be called to meekly surrender their lives in martyrdom, the ultimate expression of faith.

When Jesus was crucified, the enemy assumed a great victory, only to find he had been defeated.

During the tribulation, the enemy will be absolutely defeated by the quiet and gentle obedience and faith of the followers of Christ.

1Peter 2:21 ‘To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving an example that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth. When they hurled their insults at him ,he did not retaliate, when he suffered, he made no threats. instead he entrusted himself to Him who judges justly.’

The night will be dark but the dawn will be glorious!
